This installation guide gives you an outline to understand the cloud based license management system of SketchUp Studio (Education). Using this Installation and User Management Guide you can add product user/s, assign SketchUp license, download applications, launch cloud services, set different role to user etc.

After installation of the product, user can access the product by sign-in with Trimble Account email and password.

I have received email from Trimble. What are the next steps?

Once you have purchased the SketchUp Studio Education License, you will receive an email at your registered email address (the one you provided during purchase) from Trimble (donotreply@trimble.com) with the subject line “Start using your product today!

Click on “Manage Your Account” button.

Please sign-in or create your Trimble Account for the SketchUp License you have purchased. Utilize your Trimble Account to manage licenses through the admin panel.

I haven’t received an email from Trimble. Am I able to sign-in to my Trimble account?

You can also sign-in your Trimble Account using https://sketchup.com/

Please sign-in using your registered email ID. (Which you provided when placing your SketchUp order. This email ID is your registered ID.)

If you are a new user and do not have a Trimble account, you will be prompted to create a new account after clicking the Next button.

I am a new user; how to create a Trimble account?

If you are a new user, you will be prompted to create a new Trimble Account. Provide all the information that you provided while placing your SketchUp order.

Press Send Code button to verify.

You will receive an email at your registered email ID from no-reply@account.trimble.com with the subject line “Your Trimble Identity Verification Code.”

Enter the Verification Code and press Submit button to verify.

After successful verification, you will be prompted to set a password

Set Preferences and press Submit button.

You will see following message – “Your account has been created successfully!

You will receive an email from no-reply@account.trimble.com with the subject line – “Your Trimble Identity has been Created

Sign-in using your username and password.

Accessing your Trimble Account.

After signing into your Trimble Account, sometimes, you may see multiple accounts associated with your same email address.

Select the Trimble Account labeled “Purchased via {name of the reseller}.”

After selecting the correct account, you will find three tabs:

  • My Products: This tab displays all products assigned to you (your email ID), from where you can download them.
  • Members: Here you can manage members; including adding, deleting and assigning or revoking product access.
  • Plan Settings: SketchUp Studio for Education are annual subscription licenses. Here you can view details such as expiration dates, plan type, number of seats and included applications for your purchased licenses.

As an owner/administrator, you have the ability to manage users and assign product to the user through the Members section.

Before assigning any products to the users, it’s necessary to add a user first.
Since no members have been added yet, proceed to the Members tab and add member.

Adding New User / Member

Select Add New User

Enter the email address of the user.

If you have a Student or Instructor license, meaning you have only one license, you can add your own email address.

Enter the user details:

  • Enter the first name and last name.
  • Keep the role as “Product User”.
  • You can also assign product here.
Assigning Role to User / Member

As the account owner, you have the ability to assign following roles to user:

  • Product User Role
  • Company Admin Role

While creating a user, you will see the following options to define the User Role:

While adding the user, you can give Product Access to the user by checking the box ✔️. You can also view the available seats for the products.

Success !! You will get the message that User added Successfully.

The user will receive an email from Trimble (noreply@trimblepass.com).

How to view the “Assigned Products” to you or another user

To view the products assigned:

  • Sign in with Trimble Account (either yours or the user’s).
  • Navigate to My Products.
  • You will see the assigned product listed.

Once you expand the “View Included Applications,” you will see all the included applications. You can download and install the required applications or launch the cloud service directly.

Modifying the Product Access of User

The admin can alter user access at any time.

The admin can revoke a user’s product access at any time by deselecting it.

The user / student will receive an email from Trimble (noreply@trimblepass.com) notifying them that their license has been revoked by the administrator.

The administrator can view the product status of user / member. After revoking the product, “None” will appear in the Product Access column.

Managing Role

The account owner / admin can change the role of a user / member at any time using the “Change Role” option.

If the role is changed to “Company Admin”, the user will get the rights to manage other users.

Removing User

The admin has the authority to remove a user at any time.

Confirmation will be necessary before removing a user. After removal, the user will lose access to the product, but their Trimble Account will remain unaffected.

Bulk User Upload

If you need to assign multiple users/students at once, you can add them in bulk using a .csv file. You will find this option in the dropdown menu under “Add New User”.

The admin can add up to 200 users at once. You can download the CSV file template. Upload the CSV file, assign roles and products to all. Trimble will send invitations to all of them.

Managing Trimble Account

Admins/Users can manage their Trimble account by sign-in through the sketchup.com website.
